Our soy candles are designed to burn for 3-4 hours at a time (usually about 1 hour per inch in diameter of candle). If the candle is burned for periods less than this, then the candle will start to "tunnel" (burn down the center leaving wax on the sides of the container). You can prevent tunneling by burning the candle for the appropriate time. If it starts to tunnel and has not gone too far then you might be able to correct it by burning the candle for a longer period of time.
 | | Place candles on a flat, level, heat resistant surface.
 | | Do not burn a candle in a container that is chipped or cracked.
 | | Always burn candles in a well-ventilated room, keeping them away from drafts.
 | | Before lighting a candle, trim the wick to 1/8” to 1/4” and keep it trimmed for every 3-4 hours of burning.
 | | Our cotton and paper braided wick will easily trim without the use of scissors after the first burn. Before | | | re-lighting, pinch off the charred tip with a tissue. The tip will break off in the perfect place almost every time (approximately 1/4" above the wax line). If the wick is longer than this then trim to 1/4" using scissors.
 | | Keep candle free of wick trimmings, matches, or other foreign matter that could be a fire hazard.
 | | If your candle starts burning to one side, adjust the wick or check for a draft.
 | | Any candle flame can smoke if the candle is not burning efficiently. Other types of candles may smoke | | | because of the petroleum levels in them. Our soy candles will not smoke if you trim the wicks per these instructions. If one of our candles smokes either remove the candle from the draft and/or trim the wick. Because soy candles burn slower than paraffin, a thicker wick must be used to melt the wax to the edge. The wicks will tend to cause smoke if they are not kept trimmed. Please make sure you trim the wick before every use!!!
 | | Do not allow a candle to burn completely down to the bottom of the container. Stop about 1/2” short.
 | | Do not move candle while it’s burning or while wax is hot. Allow candle to cool before replacing lid.
 | | Keep burning candles away from children, pets, and anything flammable.
 | | NEVER LEAVE BURNING CANDLE UNATTENDED! | | | |
